In a tiny village south of Avignon in Provence, our chairs are lovingly made by a father and son team of the LaCroix family, which has honed the tradition of rush-seated chair making since 1859. French women still weave the rush seats from the wild rush that grows along the river and they make one of the most comfortable seats we have ever encountered. Using French beech that is harvested in accordance with stringent French standards for preserving the environment, this family-owned business makes a variety of chairs in several finishes. French Mouret Armchair with Rush Seat. French women still handweave our comfy rush-seated chairs in a little village along the Rhone River near Avignon, from the rush that grows wild along the river there. Expertly crafted by the fifth generation of Provincial chairmakers, these chairs are the lifework of this father and son enterprise. All wood is beech, harvested in conformity with French law governing the protection of the environment. Here, in antiqued finish.  Chair height 39", width 21", depth 18", seat height 19".   Made in France.
