In 1818, Louis Charles Pillivuyt (pronounced 'pilly-veet") set about to create the finest quality porcelain using his own individual combination of raw materials. His original work was inspired by artisans and craftsmen and has been refined by his successors to fulfill his original vision. Pillivuyt cookware today is internationally knkow for its exceptionally even heat conduction, as well as its versatility and durability. The hard glaze makes it very easy to clean. Pressure molding ensures a very dense and tough porcelain base. Fired at 2500°F, each piece is oven, microwave and dishwashersafe. Since 1853 pillivuyt has been operating out of the Pillivuyt homestead near the town of Mehun-su-Yevre. The factory is employee-owned and today employes 300 of the local population. Pillivuyt is recognized as France's leading porcelain manufacturer. Chefs and artists contribute to the design process to blend form and function to make this the most versatile, practical and beautiful culinary porcelain on the international market today.
