Zaklady "Boleslawiec" Polish Pottery Caterina Ltd. carries the elegant and functional Zaklady "Boleslawiec" Polish Pottery. Polish pottery, like is German counterpart, is created in the Bunzlauer Style. The name "Bunzlau" is the name of the town where the pottery is made. Bunzlau is located in the Silesia region in Poland. Polish pottery began as a folk art, with designs based on the eye of the peacock feather. The briliant colors added beauty to an otherwise plain and simple lifestyle. And still do. We carry both the traditional designs and new designs that have evolved. The hand made pottery is decorated using a unique method of hand-stamping. Each ceramic dish is made in Poland of white clay decorated with lead-free glazes creating a durable collection. The collectible pottery is safe for us in the microwave, oven and dishwasher.
