Your German and Polish Pottery is made of a dense high-fired white clay that may be washed in a regular household dishwasher, microwaved and even used in an oven (up to 400°F). We recommend you do not place it in a hot oven directly from the refrigerator but bring it to room temperature first. We also recommend that when used for baking, you cover the entire bottom surface with food or liquid to obviate cracking. The German pottery is hand painted in Koenigsbrueck, Germany.  The Polish pottery is hand painted in Boleslawiec, Poland.

Our German pottery is made by hand at the Frommhold Ceramic workshop in Koenigsbrueck, Germany. Here each piece is lovingly created by hand in the Bunzlauer tradition originating in Poland. Today the fifth generation of the Frommhold family carry on this tradition. Our hazelnut pieces reflect the original brown glaze that has been used for over a century. Our "Night sky" pattern, too, is one of the oldest patterns created by the Frommhold workshop. Visit the workshop and see the earliest piece in their collection, an early "Night Sky" pitcher circa 1890. Each piece is food-safe and suitable for microwave, dishwasher and oven use.

Our Night Sky Small Round Casserole with Handles and Lid is perfect for serving side dishes that need to be heated or retain heat, like vegetables. Our Night Sky collection features raised white ceramic "stars" drifting against a deep cobalt background. Made entirely by hand according to the Bunzlauer tradition (polish: Boleslawiec) in Königsbrück, Germany, near Dresden, this pottery is food-, oven-, microwave- and dishwasher safe.
