Washable and colorfast, your Garnier linen is all cotton. We recommend that before the first use, you wash it in cold water. Thereafter, it may be washed in warm water in a regular household laundry machine (140°F/60°C); it is treated with indanthren vat dyes before weaving to prevent discoloration from sun or detergents. You will be pleasantly surprised at how well it keeps its color even after many washings. To avoid shrinkage, we recommend that you wash your linens in cool or warm water and that you dry them on "air fluff" or other low-heat setting of your dryer, or hang them to dry. High heat will cause the fibers to pull together and if you dry the cloth on a high heat setting you can expect about 4% shrinkage. To remove a stubborn stain, you may use hot water; but we still recommend low or no heat drying. Do not bleach. You may iron it with a warm iron or do what the French do: smooth your tablecloth over your bed to allow it to air-dry flat.
